Gorilla Trekking in Uganda

The Pearl of Africa — Bwindi's ancient forests shelter nearly half the world's remaining mountain gorillas.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Uganda

The Pearl of Africa

Uganda is home to more than 460 mountain gorillas across two national parks — Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. With gorilla trekking permits at $700 (compared to $1,500 in Rwanda), Uganda is the more budget-friendly option without compromising the experience.

Bwindi's ancient forest has been untouched for over 25,000 years, creating one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet. Beyond gorillas, Uganda offers spectacular chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and the legendary Nile at Murchison Falls.

Uganda is also home to 50% of Africa's bird species — a paradise for birdwatchers.
