Rwanda 4 Days Nyungwe Chimpanzee And Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National ParkTrack the gorillas 2 times in Volcanoes National Park, Track the Chimpanzees in Nyungwe. The tour takes visits to Nyungwe, in South West of Rwanda, a huge afro-montane forest. With over 10000sq.km in size, Nyungwe is the undisputed giant in Central Africa. The natural forest is renowned for its large troops of colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, butterflies and a rich variety of orchids. Over 300 bird species have been recorded. Visit some cultural sites en route – the Museum in Butare and the palace at Nyanza.
Visit Parc National des Volcans (PNV) in the north of Rwanda where about 300 mountain gorillas live.

 

Day 1: Parc Nationale Des Volcanoes.
You will be picked from your hotel or place of residence and transferred to Parc Nationale des Volcanoes. The evening is spent on sightseeing and relaxing around the hotel.

Day 2 and 3: Gorilla trekking-Nyungwe Forests
Have breakfast and go to ORTPN offices for briefing after that set off in the forest for Gorilla trekking. A thrilling trek through the refined foothills of the Virungas provides inspiring views in all directions. Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
An early wake up will see you start your Journey to Nyungwe National Park. The drive is approximately 6-7 hours via Kigali city. The drive takes you through small towns and villages and if interested you could also look out for several up country mass graves to learn more about the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. You will arrive at the lodge in time for relaxation and preparation for tomorrows activities. If time allows, you may visit the National Museum at Butale or The Kings Palace to learn more about the culture of the Rwandese people.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking Nyungwe Forests
Have breakfast go for chimp trekking, during trekking you might spot primates like the colobus monkeys plus viewing other inhabitants of the forest like birds and butterflies, return to the lodge for late lunch.

Day 6: Colobus hiking in Nyungwe National PARK.
After breakfast enter Nyungwe National park to hike colobus monkeys at uwinka reception the forest is believed to encompass a apparent troop of 400 and is the largest troop of arboreal primates in Africa. A walk in the forest is a whole learning experience accompanied by knowledgeable guide well versed in botany, ornithology and interspecies relationship in this forest. Rangers may know where these primates may be found but the hiking times may vary with their uNational Parkredictable movements as they search for food in their habitat. It may be a strenuous walk but rangers always make it more enjoyable and informative by giving you information about the flora and fauna that you encounter while on the walk.
You will be welcomed back by your driver guide from Gorillas and Wildlife Safaris who will brief you about your trek for the next day.

Day 7: Nyungwe Forests-Kigali Out
Have breakfast ready for a guided nature walk in the forest to see a variety of animals and some of the three hundred bird species found here, which include the Rwenzori turaco and black and white casqued hornbill. Go on an escorted walk in search of large groups of colobus monkeys and transfer back to Kigali with lunch enroute ready to catch up with your evening out bound flight to your next destination.
