3 Days Mount Elgon Hike

Safari Overview
Mount Elgon has the largest volcanic base in the world. Mount Elgon National Park is home to over 300 species of birds, including the endangered Lammergeyer. Small antelopes, forest monkeys, elephants, and buffaloes also live on the mountainside. A Climb on Mt. Elgon’s deserted moorlands unveils a magnificent and uncluttered wilderness.

Day 1: Kampala – Mbale /Mount Elgon
Our driver/Guide picks you up from your Hotel or place of residence and drives you to the Eastern part of Uganda. On your way to Jinja you will be able to encounter en route attractions such as the vast equatorial Mabira forest, the longest River Nile, Lake Victoria, and tea and sugar plantations around Lugazi and Kakira. Lunch break at Mbale Resort. After lunch, ready to hike and explore the magnificent Sipi falls, Uganda’s most beautiful mountain falls. Dinner and overnight at Mbale Resort, Lacam lodge, Sipi River Resort or Sipi falls rest camp Meal Plan Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Mount Elgon Hike
After your morning breakfast, head to the mountain with packed lunch and snacks, this day is dedicated to one day hike where the park guide(s)/Porter(s) are ready to take you up to the mountain using any of the selected three main trekking trails. Budadiri Forest exploration centre – Kapkwai and Kapwata are all places you start to choose to ascend the spectacular mountain. Dinner and overnight at Mbale Resort, Lacam lodge, Sipi River Resort, (classic), Sipi falls rest camp Meal Plan Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Mt Elgon/Mbale-Kampala/Entebbe
Breakfast early in the morning thereafter drives back to Kampala via Jinja with a lunch break at Jinja Nile Resort. Afterwards, you will explore Jinja town and its major attractions like the source of River Nile with a bot cruise along the longest river in Africa. Return to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at a place of your choice.
